Ranking the Healthiest Meats and Protein

With a lot of dietary topics there is some confusion about what foods are healthy or not. I wrote a blog a while ago discussing the top superfoods which you can read by clicking HERE. The truth is, when it comes to superfoods, animal sources are far superior. Superfoods come down to a term called nutrient density. Nutrient density means the combination of essential macronutrients (fat and protein), along with an array of vitamins, and minerals per calorie. In other words, you are getting a lot more vitamins and nutrients for what you are eating. Let's dive into the healthiest, nutritious, and most nutrient dense protein sources:
Beef Liver: An absolute powerhouse of B vitamins, iron, vitamin A, vitamin K, choline, zinc, copper and much more. Other organ meats fall into number #1 but a little less nutrient dense than liver such as heart, kidney, and spleen.
Oysters: Oysters have the highest content of zinc than any other food. Zinc is extremely important for a lot of bodily functions especially with your immune system and gut health. You are also getting a lot of vitamin B12, iron, selenium and a list of other important nutrients with this superfood.
Sardines: Small but mighty when it comes to nutrient content. They are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health. Sardines are also rich in calcium, vitamin D, and protein. With the nutrient content it is high in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium, and selenium.
Shrimp: Low in calories but high in protein and essential nutrients, making them a great choice for a healthy diet. They are particularly rich in iodine, which is important for thyroid function. With its nutrient content it is high in protein, iodine, selenium, vitamin B12, and choline.
Steak: Steak comes with a lot of protein and a lot more nutrients.
